SA108 : I have more than 13 Capital Gains Transactions, how do I enter them on my return?

  • I have lots of Capital Gains transactions and it won’t let me add anymore, how do I fix this?

The maximum number of entries allowed on this page is 13 due to HMRC restrictions on filing. If you have more than 13 trades during the tax year, you should summarise the transactions on a spreadsheet and enter a single entry per transaction type.

    Example:

Joe has bought and sold numerous listed shares throughout the tax year, he also sold a property in the UK and was buying and selling crypto. He is now entering them on the system, but he has made more than 13 transactions.

    1.       Complete a spreadsheet with a summary of all the different transactions:

    Capital gains listed shares

  • Crypto transactions

    2.       Now we have the totals to use, we need to include a separate entry on the Tax Return for each type:

    Listed shares : https://www.screencast.com/t/G2yEZH8Vxd

    Crypto transactions: https://www.screencast.com/t/vA1WBQjRYYqM

    Rental property: https://www.screencast.com/t/Ud09fVWca

    3.       As we have included a one line entry for each type of capital gains transaction, we must attach a PDF showing the breakdown of the total figures. We now need to go to the ‘Almost there’ page.

To do this press 'SAVE' then 'CONTINUE':

Check any tax saving prompts in YELLOW, if there is nothing to include, press ‘YES’:

    4.       Scroll down to the following question and click 'BROWSE AND ATTACH FORM' for the PDF summary:

    5.       Locate and ‘open’ the PDF

    6.       You should then see the document attached:
